It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the new school year of 2013-2014! We are excited to announce the Pre-K and Early Head Start addition to our campus this school term! We know the importance of early learning and are proud that we will have students from six weeks old to four years of age on our Early Learning Wing.
At Swainsboro Primary School, our dedicated staff has been working diligently to prepare for another successful year. We strive to provide our students with the best educational experience by creating a safe, positive learning environment, by providing rigorous standards-based instruction, by using the state adopted standards, and by ensuring that the individual needs of each and every student are met. Our highly qualified staff members collaborate and share best practices on a regular basis through professional learning communities in an effort to meet the needs of students at all levels. Student safety, academic achievement, and building character are our top priorities.
Student attendance at school is a serious matter. Last year, we worked really hard to decrease the number of students that were absent more than 15 days. Please work with us to ensure that your child is at school every day by 8:00 a.m. Arriving on time and staying at school all day, every day is a critical factor in the academic success of your child. With ”Truancy” guidelines, regular attendance, being on time, and not leaving early is very important.
We consider you, our parents as our absolute partners in education. It is through a strong home and school partnership that we are able to achieve high standards and provide the best learning opportunities for our students. We welcome parents and family members to become involved in your child’s education. There are a variety of ways to become involved such as joining our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), volunteering in your child’s classroom, attending school events, helping with your child’s homework, and by communicating with your child’s teacher on a regular basis. SPS is fortunate to have a hardworking PTO that is dedicated to supporting and enriching the learning opportunities for our students.
We take pride in celebrating student successes within the classroom, during our Tiger Rallies, and our grade level Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) celebrations each month. You are welcome to join us for upcoming events and activities throughout the school year. Please check your child’s weekly letter for upcoming lessons and activities.
I look forward to working with you to provide the best educational opportunities for your child. Please contact me at anytime if I may be of assistance to you. You may email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 478-237-8302.
